I started working in education in 2006 at a small South Auckland decile 1 Primary school. I joined NZEI in January 2006 and have been an active member of NZEI since then. In 2015 I moved from the Primary School to a reasonably large South Auckland Secondary School to take on the role of Executive Office Assistant - PA to the Principal and Senior Leadership Team [6 members] Payroll/BOT Secretary/Website co-ordinator. In 2019 my role within the school changed and now I am a Leadership Support Specialist - Office Manager/Enrolments/Events/Hauora and community. I oversee eight amazing support staff in the office and resource centre for the school.

In 2015 I was involved in the planning and the establishment of the Counties Manukau Area Council that was officially launched in 2016. My Principal and colleagues fully support me in the roles I have undertaken with NZEI including my role as the current Support Staff National Executive Representative.
